Kevin Turner, 8 year NFL vet, was diagnosed with ALS in 2010, around the same time a paper came out of Boston University linking ALS to CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy) in athletes. NFL players were 4-8 times more likely to be diagnosed - and in high impact positions like Kevin's as a full back - the percentage could go up to as many as 12 times more likely. The Kevin Turner Foundation was formed to raise awareness about the connection between ALS and CTE, and to try to stop it.
When Kevin was no longer able to "climb" a group of 7 people decided to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in his honor. What results is an amazing story of dedication, love, death defying risk and the absolute best of humanity. This is Climb For Kevin.
